A Very flash mob

In 2016 Cairns became the first Queensland town or Australian regional city to boast a Rainbow Crossing when the Cairns Regional Council installed a Rainbow Crossing on the most prominent streetscape in town - the Esplanade crossing to the Cairns Esplanade Lagoon.

The Rainbow Crossing created immense goodwill and joy in our community and we offer our heartfelt thanks to Cairns Regional Council for their support, not only with the crossing but in so many other ways.

In 2017 Cairns Regional Council is again demonstrating their support for diversity and inclusion with street activation during Cairns Tropical Pride and we invite all the community to join us in a huge Flash Mob to celebrate the 2017 installation. We'll be bringing every Rainbow Flag we have - bring your own or share ours for the pic of a lifetime.
